The Cabin

The Cabin is an inspiring oasis in the city of Denver.

During the academic year (August-May), we offer a single subsidized live work space for rent. This opportunity is perfect for an artist, writer or curator seeking to sample living in Denver in a way that cultivates connection and meaning.

Living and studio space:

Eco-friendly tiny house with off-grid features for living + 100 sqft studio in a treehouse for creative work. Both are completely self-contained with their own private yard and off-street parking.

The role an artist’s environment plays in their creative output is unquestionable. We also know that having time and money to invest in one’s own art is crucial towards meeting artistic goals. Because of this, we embrace the value of minimal living, efficient design and aesthetic experience. We’ve cultivated a vibe that pairs eclectic features nodding to the iconic western vernacular along with original art.

Denver is a small enough community that, with a regular effort of attending openings or other art events, it is easy to engage with, connect to, and make friends.

For those recent MFA grads looking for adjunct teaching opportunities, we can help direct you into some of those regional employment opportunities if requested.

Cost:

Total cost is $995/Month for the privately fenced in furnished house and studio with an off street parking spot ($645 for the house, $350 for the studio) plus utilities.

  • For comparison, Denver’s average art studio rent is 3.90/sqft. and the average single bedroom house rents for $1900.00 plus utilities so the market value of this live work space is over $2400/month.

Features and amenities:

Furnished, W/D combo, 1 studio loft bedroom/1bath, small kitchenette with microwave and induction cooktop, (stove is non operable), refrigerator, gas fireplace, off-street parking, window unit AC, outdoor living, eco friendly above commode grey-water recycling system, supplemental solar powered lighting, clawfoot tub,
