Drawing
Drawing is one of the earliest, most primary and direct acts of visual communication. It can function as preliminary study for other works or as a focus all its own. Drawing is not confined to 2D space, static imagery, representation, or that which is produced by a single artist’s hand.
We have expansive notions of what it means to make a drawing and are interested in further expanding definitions of drawing through new approaches to the field. That being said we are also interested in artists who excel at drawing’s longstanding traditions.
For the sake of selecting candidates for this residency we intend to offer the opportunity to artists, curators or writers seeking a continued exploration of drawing, in some form, for the duration of their stay even if drawing is not otherwise their primary focus.
